Thanks to the Intentional Job Search program, I landed my dream role at Google!
Before I joined IJS, I was an accomplished product manager. I followed the latest trends in product management; connected to all the most outstanding product leaders in the community. However, I had struggled in interviews and failed many times to land my dream roles at companies like Google. These reasons prompted me to join this program.
I got structured feedback about my mock interviews week over week in the program. As a result, I was able to get input on structural problems in my thinking.
Previously, I had done packages of interviews from other sites, and it seemed that every time I was getting the same high-level feedback based on the first impression of me.
IJS’s distinctions made a massive difference for me.

I have seven years of experience in product growth and marketing in India, and I was looking to move geographies and get into tech. The big challenge for me was that I didn't have a network in the larger global ecosystem in tech and hadn't really prepared for big tech in terms of interviewing and how to go about it because it was a change of function for me. I found Intentional Job Search as a good program for me. I got into Cornell Johnson MBA, but I still felt that I needed more structured support from people practicing in the industry versus in college.
The first thing that stuck out to me [about the program] was the storytelling aspect. I set up initial sessions with Sam, and he was very communicative. I could ask him any question, and my apprehension was whether my stories would be good enough for me to represent them in the product interviews. The approach we took to create those stories went into making a big story and then breaking it down into parts and being able to spin them to attack different questions. It was a very thorough process, and my lack of confidence in whether I'd be able to before getting into this process went away. My confidence grew because I felt that I could tackle all kinds of questions and learn and do it on my own and with my peers.
What I was not expecting was the mindset aspect of [the program]. I was looking for product design and product strategy stories, but the entire mindset piece ended up being the most important for me. I admit I may not have attended all the sessions, but I watched and re-watched some of the winning episodes multiple times, and a few principles like maintaining my gratitude journal. During the [interview] process, I started doing a gratitude journal, created a year-long vision for myself, and then got deeper into envisioning how my interview would go. Before every interview, big meeting, or anything I show up for, I use it, and it's a process I've just started, and I want to get deeper into.
As a result of the program, I am a Senior Product Manager at Amazon, and I have to thank Shobhit, Sam, and the entire network of interview coaches. I'm thankful, and it was a
great journey. One week before, you had to appear for an interview, and during that week, there was a lot of back and forth in terms of my hooks and my stories with Sam, other peers, and coaches. I did a lot of mocks and took feedback. Some of that feedback was harsh, but it was necessary and actionable. I had four interviews back to back and did not repeat a story. I never l felt short.
Book a call, and you will be changed as PM and a person even after that first call. You will learn a lot about yourself that you may be thinking wrong and get another perspective on your understanding of what you're doing and where you're headed.

Working with Intentional Product Manager was a very important career decision for me.
I was finding my job search to be very frustrating - I was consistently applying, interviewing, and networking to the best of my ability, but really needed some more direct feedback to help me improve my outcomes.
This program gave me honest, personal feedback. It helped me hone my interviewing skills and feel more confident in my approaches. Sam & Shobhit helped me be more effective and structured in my extemporaneous in-the-moment responses and gave me the tools to tell stories around my work history in a more structured way & that told a cohesive story.
Intentional Job Search is a great tool to give insight into where your blinders might be. The mock interviews are indispensable.

This program has helped me tremendously! The curriculum and coaching are incredible! The mock interviews and story refining helped me get the feedback I needed and prepare for the grueling Amazon interviews.
I was also surprised to get a very supportive community where I as constantly encouraged and told that I am not alone! I actually landed my job via recruiter reach by a referral from another person in the community.
My advice to anyone who is in the same place I was:
Don’t waste your time with certifications.
This program is worth the investment. The return is invaluable.
If you join this program, take advantage of the community. Do not be afraid to break the ice; give and get honest feedback.
This program will make you stronger all around. I am so thankful that I decided to be part of this program and community.

Before the Intentional Job Search program, I was a product manager and leader at Citibank. I had not changed jobs in ten years! My biggest challenge was I had no idea how to conduct a successful search for the next tech PM role.
I was very hesitant when I spoke with Shobhit. I asked him 1000s of questions, and he answered them very genuinely. That's what led me to join the program.
I worked through all stages of the program - stories, Linkedin, and interviews. I felt so much more confident going into interviews as I consistently got a hire or strong hire ratings from IPM coaches.
I applied to six jobs, interviewed at four, and had three offers! I did not expect that to happen since these were my dream companies.
I hit the goals I set for myself. I joined Twilio, a tech and product-focused company. It met my goals: moving from banking to tech, into a well-known brand, and working for a great manager.
This program has changed quite a few things in my life. It has helped me better communicate my own stories and made me much more confident in life. There are so many principles that I've learned here, which it's not just for this job search. It is, in general, in life, both personal and professional. And I'm very confident that next time I change jobs, you know, I know what to do, what to look for, what are the key areas to focus on, and what to enhance, and I can now work towards my next job starting today. The skill sets I've learned here will be beneficial in multiple ways.
