Before & After

Mindset
Before

After her layoff, Keyuri felt lost, was scared to even attend interviews, and was emotionally weighed down by the gap in her resume and fear of judgment. She struggled with self-doubt and feeling sorry for herself.

After

Keyuri reframed her layoff as a positive turning point, developed a resilient daily mindset practice, and came to feel 'set for life' — even expressing gratitude for having been laid off given where she ended up.

Resume & LinkedIn
Before

Despite 12 years of PM experience, Keyuri did not know how to package or position herself — she was caught off guard by having to present her background and lacked the self-branding skills needed for a job search.

After

Keyuri learned how to repackage and communicate her existing experience effectively, describing the program as a 'makeover for PMs' that gave her lasting skills in self-presentation beyond just the job search.

Networking & Outreach
Before

Keyuri was isolated in her search and initially too nervous to speak to people, unsure how to engage with others in or around her industry during her job search.

After

Keyuri became a proactive networker — opening her calendar to anyone who wanted to talk after landing her role, engaging deeply within her coaching community, and identifying talking to more people as her single most important piece of advice.

Interview Performance
Before

Keyuri failed three interviews in December despite being arguably the best-fit candidate for one role. Interviewers explicitly told her she had the skills but they did not come across in interviews — she was fumbling even through her own intro.

After

Keyuri successfully cleared multiple final-round interviews, including a high-stakes 24-hour case study, and received strong positive feedback. She scheduled all her final rounds in the same week with the confidence that she was ready.

Job Search Strategy
Before

For the first two months after her layoff (November–December), Keyuri had no structured approach and did not know what she was doing in her search.

After

Keyuri ran a deliberate, coordinated search — intentionally scheduling multiple final-round interviews in the same week to create leverage, resulting in three simultaneous offers.

Compensation
Before

Keyuri had never negotiated compensation before and was deeply nervous about asking for more money, convinced that pushing too hard would cause her to lose her offers.

After

Keyuri trusted the negotiation coaching, asked for a number that felt uncomfortably high to her, and ultimately landed a total compensation package $100K above where she started — a result she described as 'mindboggling.'

IJS isn't just a job search program — it's a makeover program

Keyuri Anand's Story

I spent 12 years in B2B product management, mostly at large companies like SAP. Then I was part of a workforce reduction. The first two months I didn't know what I was doing — I'd never actually interviewed properly. I landed three interviews in December and didn't clear any of them. The feedback was brutal but honest: 'You have the skills to do the job, but that doesn't come across at all in the interview.'

IJS is branded and publicized as a job search program, but it's a makeover program for PMs. The program was far more structured than I expected. One moment changed everything for me. In a group coaching call, someone asked how to answer questions about a gap in their resume. Sam said, 'You just say you were part of a workforce reduction and move on.' I wrote that on a sticky note and put it on my laptop until I got my new one.

I knew I was ready and scheduled all my final rounds in the same week. I had three offers. When it came to negotiation, Shobhit gave me a number that terrified me. The eventual number where I started and where I ended up was $100K more — mind-boggling.

I'm now a Staff PM for AI-powered billing at Cleo. I'm not just grateful I joined IJS — I'm grateful I got laid off, because where I am now is way better by compensation, by role, by overall personality growth and career growth.
